The Observer

Here we see The Observer witnessing the birth of the universe. The observer goes by many names: God, collective consciousness, oneness, light, the list could go on. I used this painting as a sort of bridge between the realities of spirituality and science. In the Double Slit Experiment, they were observing the behavior of electrons by firing them through two slits on a backboard. They noticed that when unobserved they behaved like waves and created an interference pattern, but when they were being measured they behaved like matter. One idea is that the same thing happened at the big bang: when observed, the waves behaved like matter and created everything out of seemingly nothing, out of the womb of light.
